Apparently, some the puppy breeds sold here are prone to Intervertebral Disc Disease – she was Bichapoo. We couldn’t bring ourselves to putting her down when it happened but over the last almost 3 years her stomach/bladder muscles have weakened from us having to manually pee and poop her out. Just posting for awareness and please do your own research before purchasing pups from here. Now that I have learned from experience, my next fur baby will not come from a puppy store. Spoke to the manager and was able to get my fluff ball puppy within range to take home! I came in with my brother and son and first I have to say is that they operated amazingly and super clean. These puppies all are taken very well care of! I like that they don’t name them so names don’t stick when you choose to adopt! When we contacted XO Pups about the health issues, we were told that treatment would be provided or covered. However, when we went for veterinary treatment, they refused to cover the care as promised. We also tried to return the puppy because these health problems were identified shortly after purchase. XO Pups initially refused to take the puppy back, and the staff was very rude and dismissive when we went there to discuss the return. The entire experience was stressful and disappointing, especially because we were dealing with a sick young puppy and were expecting the seller to honor the commitments they had made regarding her health and treatment. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and that XO Pups provide a clear explanation regarding their health guarantee, return policy, and the treatment they promised to provide. I also believe future customers should be fully informed about a puppy’s health status and any known medical issues before purchase. The person working that day was quite attentive to the puppies and quickly would check in on people playing with the puppies and to clean any messes in the crates. This has been emotionally devastating and has already required nonstop veterinary visits and extensive medical care immediately after bringing him home. The radiology report confirmed bronchopneumonia, and he is currently being treated with multiple medications and antibiotics while being monitored around the clock. At this point, we still do not know if he is going to fully recover from all of this. The only positive part of this experience so far is that treatment is currently being covered under the warranty. However, we are already being told he may need treatment beyond the 21-day coverage period, which is extremely concerning given how serious his condition is. Having this many significant illnesses appear immediately after purchase is completely unacceptable, especially for a puppy sold at this price. Watching a 10-week-old puppy struggle with pneumonia and multiple parasites has been heartbreaking, and I have even had to take time off work to care for him and make sure he is okay. Right now my entire focus is trying to get him healthy, but based on this experience, I would strongly advise others: do not buy a puppy from here. The first place was terrible and we figured we’d give this place a shot. They were great! Very informative and attentive and answered all of our questions without making us feel stupid by any means. The price was a little high, but to be expected at a pet store. What made it a lot easier decision was the package of items that came with our pup. That was a life and time saver, and also helped with any stress about keeping our pup on similar food. The whole experience was great and Alex and Vanessa do a great job.
